Another Update

Sadly, I have not created anything new since the last time. There are a few works in progress at the moment. The biggest challenge at the moment has been with finding time to film for the movies and having to find a new actor. The one that I have been using had surgery and will not be able to do the things that I usually make her do (walk around, run, etc.).
The most recent project that I am working on will consist of small one scene stories within one larger story. All of the characters voices will be replaced with classical music. This is to help express the fact that people can convey feelings and emotions without actual words. So far, I have a few story ideas including an argument scene and a scene at a coffee shop. I haven't found anything similar to my project yet. The closest thing would be the teacher from Charlie Brown. I'm estimating that this project will be finished over break.

Art Update

Recently, I was able to finish my first short movie and submit it to a few colleges as well. I had to learn to disconnect myself from the project in order to have the courage to let other people see it. This helped me to not become so attached to my work and to let in other peoples opinions and to not be hurt by them. By listening to these opinions, it has helped me in creating my next project, whether it be how shaky the camera was to the camera angles that were used.
Through these projects, I have also been able to discover different people in the film industry that I admire. These people are Wes Anderson and Robert Yeoman. Yeoman is the cinematographer in all of Anderson's live action films. I had always admired the quirkiness of Anderson's work. By studying him and Yeoman, I have been able to dive deeper into the reasoning for why they do what do and how they do it. I have been able to identify different recurring themes. Their work has inspired me to use some of their techniques in my own.

Project #1 Brief

The subject of my my art project is about not wanting to go outside my comfort zone. The medium that I chose is going to be film and its going to be more experimental and avant gardish. I wanted to convey this because having to tell someone this would be like going outside of my comfort zone. I don't like talking about personal things but this project gives me the opportunity to do this indirectly and through a medium that I enjoy.
